Water main break at 39th & Leary affecting Ballard water pressure

A break in a water main in Fremont is affecting the water pressure for many residents in Ballard today.

The break happened at 39th and Leary Way.  Crews were checking on reports of low water pressure from throughout Ballard around 2:10 p.m. when the break was discovered.  Seattle Public Utility crews say the 24-inch main developed numerous cracks and failed as wet soil shifted around it.

SPU crews say there will be disruptions in the in water until 9 p.m.  This will include reduced pressure and discoloration of the water.
