A man was shot-- but by whom?

A man being treated for a gunshot wounds at the emergency room at Swedish Hospital told police he and his friend were walking to the AM/PM near Aurora and Northgate when someone approached them and demanded money. After the man said he had no money, the man produced a gun. A struggle ensued, the hospitalized man said, and the gun discharged, wounding him in the hand and thigh.

The shooter then fled the scene, the man said.

But Police officers, who responded to a call from hospital staff at about 2:20 a.m., searched the area but found no evidence to support the man's claims. There were no 911 calls in the area referencing shots being fired.

Neither the wounded man nor his friend could provide a description of the person they said they encountered.

My friend was jumped 3 times in aurora close to 145th. My car was broken into for a set of chains. My other car broken into and even my radio remote got stolen. Also my friends car was stolen and radio another time. Not a good place to walk around at night. Lots of weird people in that area that prowl on walking people. I got followed into my parking garage by some weird guy and quickly got into the elevator and got away at my appartment complex. Definitely not a place to walk around at in the aurora area.
