Do phone scammers have your number?
Becky from Ballard writes to tell us about a "terrifying" call she got from someone pressuring her to confirm her social security number in connection with an unpaid online loan.
"They ask you to confirm your Social Security number and address and bank account. This is a SCAM! DO NOT GIVE INFORMATION OUT!!
The number they are calling you from 1-972-591-5255 and are reading from a script they are based in Dallas, TX."
Thanks, Becky! Also, City Light is warning customers about crooks attempt to get people to give their credit card number to collect for unpaid bills. City Light doesn't call people for collections, so again, don't do it.

I recently received a call from someone claiming to be an agent for PUD trying to collect on an unpaid bill as well, pressuring me to give a credit card number immediately. When I asked for a reprint of the bill (that I had not received - which they said had been sent numerous times since March) they said that was not an option and they would mail a letter, but only after I paid over the phone during that call. I know that this posting is about City Light, but beware that it is spreading for other companies as well.
